AUSTRALIA'S perpetual scourge, the cane toad, has again found its way to Sydney, with a group of the pests hitching a ride to the city's west on a truck.
State MP for Auburn, Barbara Perry, said the Flemington-Homebush area was now regarded as a ``hot spot" for the poisonous amphibians after they were discovered on a fruit and vegetable truck.
It followed the discovery of another band of hitchhiking toads believed to have travelled to southern Sydney on a mulch truck.
Mrs Perry urged Sydneysiders to hop to it and contact the Government if they spotted the pests.
``Cane toads are not welcome in Sydney - it's as simple as that," she said.Unattractive animals at any time, they can be grey, yellowish, olive brown or reddish-brown in colour, are 10-15cm long with warty and dry skin, a pointed snout and a bony ridge above the eye.
